Masterclasses

Artists are eligible to submit an application to take part in the masterclasses which will be conducted by industry experts, focusing on topics such as music monetisation, networking and promotion, as well as preparing for gigs and studio sessions. Each country will host their own set of masterclasses, selecting 16 artists through the open call to take part in each location. Each set of masterclasses will be followed by one-to-one mentoring sessions between each industry professional and each participant.

Breaking down what most artists tend to overlook - rights and royalties are two of the most important income streams for recording artists. This workshop will lay down the foundation of an artist’s rights and how to make money out of their music from the get-go. It will also explore networking opportunities and how to make the most out of them.

Suse Ribeiro (Portugal) - Recording session and gigs on the agenda. How do I prepare?

Preparation and pre-production for your next studio or live gig.

Oftentimes, nerves before a performance come due to the lack of organisation and preparation and not knowing what to expect. This will be a step-by-step guide to communicating with production managers, studio and front-of-house engineers, venues and technical crew efficiently, preparing tech riders and ensuring a smooth process for upcoming studio recordings and live gigs. Time management, technical lingo, reliability and dedication are key.

Michelle Carrasco (France) - Compose, record, perform - What brings it all together?
From the conception of an idea to bringing it to life and sharing it with the world.

Find the coherence between your artistic project and its delivery on stage. Defining the artistic narrative is the foundation of everything - a solid promotional plan, social media presence, scenography, persistence and timing will make all the difference. Creating a holistic experience where music isn't only heard - it's felt, seen, and lived.

In this insightful masterclass, Ricardo Martins shares his philosophy, experiences, and know-how to guide emerging artists on the path to extraordinary musical partnerships.

Information and Eligibility Requirements


By submitting an application you will be entered into a pool of artists, of which 16 will be selected to participate in the masterclasses of their country of residence.


To be eligible for the open call, artists need to be:
 

  • permanent residents of either Cyprus, Portugal or France
  • applying as an individual, not as a band or group


Deadline for submitting an application: 31st March 2024 (23:59 CET)

Submitting an application is free of charge - if selected, the participants will need to pay a total fee of €80 to take part in the masterclasses.

All masterclasses will be conducted in English.


During the masterclasses there will be free snacks and drinks available to all participants.


Each set of masterclasses will be followed by one-to-one 30-minute mentoring sessions between each industry professional and each participant
